Chest Radiology Service


(4 Weeks during F 1 Year)

Faculty Responsible : Brad Thompson, M.D. and Jeff Wilson, M.D.

Goals:

  1. Gain experience ordering and interpreting chest radiographic imaging studies including plain films, chest CT scans, angiography, MRI, and nuclear imaging.
  2. Gain experience working with chest radiologists in diagnosing and managing patients with lung disease.
  3. Gain experience in educating internal medicine residents in chest imaging through a daily conference following morning report.
  4. Gather appropriate teaching files to share with other fellows in Radiology Teaching Conferences.
  5. Participate in Radiology teaching conferences as directed.

Sites of Instruction: University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics

Evaluations:

Fellows will be evaluated informally throughout the month by radiology attending staff and formally at the end of the month by Dr. Brad Thompson.
