Department of Internal Medicine Pulmonary, Critial Care, and
Occupational Medicine Fellowship Program

Cystic Fibrosis Service


(4 Weeks during F 1 Year)

Faculty Responsible : Douglas Hornick, M.D. and faculty attending for the month

Goals:

  1. Gain experience managing adult patients with cystic fibrosis.
  2. Manage cystic fibrosis inpatients.
  3. Participate in didactic sessions with faculty in managing cystic fibrosis and present at least one teaching conference in cystic fibrosis during the month.
  4. Actively participate in the weekly CF Center Rounds.
  5. Provide outpatient care to cystic fibrosis patients under faculty supervision.

Site of Instruction: University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics

Evaluation:

Fellows are evaluated informally throughout the month by the staff attending, and they are formally evaluated at the end of each month by medical students, residents and attending staff.
