Applied Clinical Pulmonary Physiology

Target Audience: Pulmonary Fellows in training and Pulmonary Faculty
Goals:
Review pertinent pulmonary physiology related to:
- Performing and interpreting static lung function testing
- Exercise physiology and cardiopulmonary exercise testing
- Calculating A-a gradients, shunt fractions, and other gas exchange calculations used frequently in critical care medicine
Design of the Conference:
The conference will be held 4 times yearly. It is designed around case studies identified either in ongoing surveillance of interpretations of clinical studies or through pulmonary board exam questions. Fellows will work through their interpretation with faculty input.
Evaluation:
Course content will be reviewed informally with fellows and course success will be monitored by performance on board examinations.
