Fellowship Training in Gastroenterology-Hepatology

Bruce Luxon, M.D., Ph.D., Professor and Division Director
Kyle Brown, M.D., M.Sc.,  Fellowship Program Director

The gastroenterology / hepatology fellowship at the University of Iowa offers unique educational opportunities in clinical medicine and research.   The James A. Clifton Center for Digestive Diseases provides a multidisciplinary environment with many clinical programs for patients with gastrointestinal and liver diseases.   Yearly, more than 10,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed in the procedure unit.   Members of our faculty have active research programs, allowing fellows to obtain training in clinical or basic research.   Several interdisciplinary training programs add to the many opportunities for career development in academic medicine.
