The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa has a 3-year fellowship training program emphasizing preparation for careers in academic cardiology. Comprehensive training in all major aspects of clinical cardiology is combined with training in basic and clinical cardiovascular research. Opportunities exist for additional specialized training in interventional cardiology, EP, and a variety of research disciplines. The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics boasts a strong tradition of medical excellence. The Iowa medical complex includes the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, College of Medicine Medical Laboratories & Medical Research Center, Eckstein Medical Research Building and the VA hospital.
