I am thrilled to be working in this field. Almost daily, I come across a clinical or research issue that demonstrates the bidirectional impact of medical and psychiatric problems. I am interested in just about everything, including delirium, sickness behavior, somatoform disorders, cytokine involvement in psychiatric disorders, neuroactive steroids, and the evolving fields of psychoneuroendocrinology, and psychoneuroimmunology.

My personal interests are music composition and performance, mostly blues, rock, and bluegrass styles. I love to flower garden, and have a backyard filled with various perennials. I live with my wife Kim, who is an artist, and my son Paul, who studies language and plays guitar, and our five cats, who eat and sleep.
