Integrated Medicine-Psychiatry Clinic

The Integrated Medicine-Psychiatry Clinic is located at the Iowa City VA Health Care System. The clinic serves 3 functions:

Common problems encountered and managed in this clinic include depression and psychosis co-morbid with neurological disorders (like Parkinson's disease and cerebrovascular disease); patients with dementia and complex medical comorbidity; patients with somatoform disorders and medically unexplained illnesses; patients with chronic pain and psychiatric comorbidity.  The clinic is served by a dedicated case manager, and two clinical pharmacists.

As your clinical experience grows, the weekly ½ day integrated medicine-psychiatry clinic at the VA
hospital will replace your ½ day VA internal medicine clinic, as you begin PGY4, and continue through
PGY5.

- You will have the option of continuing your outpatient continuity clinic in internal medicine at the
University of Iowa hospital for one half day every other week.
