Who are our graduates?
Dr. William Stutts - The University of Iowa, 2001
My med-psych training has led me in many directions. I began my career in emergency medicine and operated as a locum tenens psychiatrist in several mental health facilities in mid-eastern Iowa. I was able to act as a psychiatrist/internist for the Iowa Department of Corrections at Oakdale, and as a psychiatrist in Iowa City at the Community Mental Health Center. I have operated in private practice as well as operating the PMIC/ICFMR Child Adolescent program at Tanager Place Clinic in Cedar Rapids. I have also had the opportunity to volunteer at the Community Free Health Clinic in Cedar Rapids as a psychiatrist/internist.
Most recently, I was deployed to Afghanistan for the Army National Guard where I operated as an internist and psychiatrist, training the Iraqi Army to function in the same capacity. At present, I operate a 20 bed psychiatric unit, operate a modest outpatient psychiatric clinic at Mercy Hospital including an outreach clinic in Williamsburg and North English, and continue in the child/adolescent program at Tanager Place Clinic in Cedar Rapids. I also continue as the Medical Director for Sedlacek Treatment Center in Cedar Rapids.
