Eidomics is the science of understanding images, shapes, and form relating to biology. Eidomics originates from the Greek word eidos, meaning "image," "form," or "shape," and -omics, an English neologism referring to a field of study in biology, such as genomics or proteomics.
Eidomics, the term, was developed to encompass a new discipline in medicine, integrating medical imaging, computer modeling, animation, simulation, and artificial intelligence in a format usable by clinicians and clinician researchers.
The primary goal of The Eidometm Project is to integrate these disciplines to utilize the strengths of each to provide, in one package, a mechanism for recording, communicating, and understanding complex pathophysiological events through realistic 4-D interactive visualization.
We believe the name of this new discipline will evolve into EidIomics, where the I refers to Intelligence. |
