Overview of Transplant: Our BMT Care Team
Physician Assistants
| The BMT OUTPATIENT and INPATIENT Physician Assistants (PA's) are health professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. Physician Assistants are qualified by graduation from an accredited educational program and certified by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). PA's are trained to identify the signs and symptoms of illness. Working as members of our health care team, they take medical histories, perform physical examinations, perform a variety of treatments and procedures, and prescribe medications. |

You will meet your Inpatient PA on the day of your admission to our unit. Your Inpatient PA, along with your transplant physician, will see you daily and manage your care while you are in the hospital. After you are discharged from the hospital, your Outpatient PA will see you for follow up care. |
