Overview of Transplant

Our Unit

Our unit consists of patient rooms, a nursing station, a staff meeting room, a kitchen, and a family room. Family members often use our kitchen where we have a coffee maker, Italian ice shaver, toaster oven, and refrigerator. Our unit comes equipped with a "family room". This room has a television, video player, and several comfortable chairs. It also has a large table and the room is stocked with games and puzzles. A restroom is located in the family room and is used by family members and visitors.

Our transplant unit has exercise bicycles and a treadmill for stationary walking. An exercise bicycle can be brought into a patient room at anytime and patients are encouraged to use this equipment as much as possible. The treadmill is not moveable and remains out on the unit for use by patients who are not in isolation.

Every week, a library cart is brought to our unit stocked with magazines and books.
