Certainly each patient's experience is unique but we believe that it is beneficial for many patients to get to know others who have been through a stem cell transplant.
We can help you make these contacts through an American Cancer Society program called CanSurmount . Our social worker is able to connect you with trained CanSurmount volunteers who have been through a stem cell transplant at our center. These volunteers are very willing to support you through this time by sharing their experience and insight or simply by being available to you.
In addition, our program sponsors a monthly post B&MT meeting where survivors gather to listen to an educational speaker and share their experiences. You are welcome to attend these meetings. Simply contact our social worker for more details.
