Steps to Join the Iowa Marrow Donor Program
Thank you for your interest in joining the Iowa Marrow Donor Program registry.
Your generosity may give someone a second chance at life.
You must be in good health and between the ages of 18 and 60 to register as a marrow donor.
Follow these 8 simple steps through the decision and application process. It will probably take you about 20 minutes to complete this process.

Read "What You Should Know About Becoming a Marrow Donor" and decide whether you can be a marrow donor

Read the "Consent for Participation" in the Iowa Marrow Donor Program carefully

Decide whether you want to register as a marrow donor. Remember:

If you are selected as a marrow donor, you must be prepared to donate to whomever you match

If you are selected as a marrow donor, we will ask you to travel to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City to donate your marrow. (Travel expenses will be paid).

Fill in all the blanks on the "Consent for Participation", including the donor information and health screening. Keep a copy of the "Consent for Participation" for your records.
