9/8/2009 Dr. François M. Abboud has been invited by the Chairman of the National Research Council on behalf of the Obama Administration and Congress to accept an appointment as a member of the Animal and Human Biology Panel of the Decadal Survey on Biological and Physical Sciences in Space. The Space Studies Board and the Aeronautics and Space Engineering Board have organized this decadal survey to establish priorities and provide recommendations for life and physical sciences research in microgravity and partial gravity for the 2010-2020 decade and beyond. This congressionally mandated study is likely to play a critical role both in enabling the development of key exploration capabilities and in the revitalization of NASA research in biological and physical sciences.
