Lisa Antes, M.D.
Clinical Associate Professor

During her fellowship training, Dr. Antes was interested in embryonic development of the kidney, particularly how the vasculature develops.  Clinical projects that she has been involved with in Iowa include assessment of complications with CRRT using citrate anticoagulation, and biobehavioral effects on renal disease outcomes.  She enjoys teaching students, residents and fellows.  She has been a mentor in the Teaching Resident Program since 2003.  In 2005 she became the Clerkship Co-Director for the M3 Inpatient Internal Medicine Clerkship.  She gives lectures for the M1 course Human Organ Systems, as well as the M2 FCP III and IV courses.  She was elected to AOA as faculty initiate in the spring 2005.  She participated in the Teaching Scholars Program 2003-2006, focusing on faculty development in the outpatient renal clinic to promote effective teaching techniques and use of electronic resources to expeditiously and effectively access information to answer clinical questions.
