Solid Tumor Consultation Service
The Solid Tumor Consultation Service sees consultations and referrals with malignancies of solid organs, including tumors of the lung, breast, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, kidney and other genitourinary sites, skin, head and neck, thymoma, thyroid, sarcoma, unknown primary, and other sites. Patients are seen in the John and Mary Pappajohn Clinical Cancer Center, often in multidisciplinary clinics, or in cooperation with specialists from areas of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology and Radiation Oncology, and Pathology. The service includes medical students, one or more resident physicians in Internal Medicine, a fellow associate undergoing subspecialty training in Hematology/ Oncology, and a Hematology/Oncology staff physician.
