James Christensen, M.D.
Professor Emeritus

Dr. Christensen is known internationally as an expert in many clinical and basic science aspects of gastrointestinal motility. He devotes considerable effort to examining the structure of the enteric nervous system, the metabolic requirements of gastrointestinal smooth muscle, and the control and functions of the muscularis mucosae.  His key interests are gastrointestinal motility; function of smooth muscle and autonomic nerves.
