Barry Cabuay, M.D.
Assistant Professor

Dr. Cabuay's research interests include Interventional cardiology and coronary artery disease.  His clinical interests are in the areas of Heart failure, cardiac intensive care.

  1. Prediction of embolic events from cardiac catheterization using transesophageal echo assessment of atherosclerosis.  Principal Investigator - Marcus Stoddard, M.D., 1998-present.
  2. Prediction of coronary artery disease on the basis of echocardiographic assessment of aortic atherosclerosis.  Principal Investigator - Marcus Stoddard, M.D., 1998-present.
  3. "Can total enteral nutrition provide adequate stress prophylaxis?"  A prospective, randomized, controlled trial.  Principal Investigator - Stephen McClave, M.D. (Director, Clinical Nutrition, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University of Louisville).  *Wrote protocol and assisted with gathering and interpreting data.  Protocol currently being reviewed by the Human Studies Committee and sent for formal grant.  1995-present.
